Want to contribute to Awareness Day on May 12th but unable to come to Blackpool?
You still can! One of the aims of the Fibroduck Foundation charity is to create a supportive environment for patients on our website, and provide information about Fibromyalgia for those new to the condition.
We need brief (roughly 400 word) articles or blog posts written by patients to share their experiences of the different symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
Let's take as an example, Restless Legs. We'd like to know what your restless legs feel like, and how this symptom affects you. We'd like to know what your GP or specialist has said about managing your restless legs, and what methods you have found best for managing your restless legs*. Because we are a patient community with a sense of humour, if you have a funny story or anecdote about this symptom, then please include it!
You can pick any symptom mentioned on the poster below. We're aiming to have at least one article for every symptom, so they form a useful resource.
We will reward every article we publish with a free Fibroduck symptoms tea towel! You must be willing to add your name to the article, and please include a photograph too, because photos show new patients that it's just normal, ordinary people like all of us who get Fibro.
*We are unable to include the names of medicines, as this might constitute medical advice. However, we may include the name of a classification of medicines, along with a suitable warning that not all medicines suit all patients, and patients should discuss suitable treatment options with their GP.
TIPS: Please include the following hashtags when publishing your blogpost to help make noise this May 12th #livingwithfibromyalgia #fibroduck #may12th #whatbeatingfibromyalgiawouldmeantome #fibroduckfoundation #fibromyalgia
Please include a link in your post to our website.
Send us a link to your blog post, we’ll put up a link back to each of the blog posts we publish on our website.
