Claire’s social group for Fibromyalgia and M.E. Have been busy fundraising for us towards Fibromyalgia research, they have raised a fantastic £282.75 !

Claire’s social events get togethers for people with Fibro/CFS and Invisible illnesses is a group set up by Claire Ison to provide social events and support for anyone suffering with these conditions where people can let their hair down and have fun with friendly supportive people. It has been a godsend to so many people whose lives genuinely have been changed; especially with regard to confidence; loneliness; and acceptance of their illnesses.

On Saturday 9th May 2015 we held our much anticipated Claire’s Fibromyalgia Awareness Barby fun day in aid of The Fibro duck Foundation. It was the culmination of Claire’s wish to raise money for a deserving charity relating to Fibromyalgia and CFS. The weather really didn’t work in our favour but did manage to stay dry with the gazebo’s fighting off the wind successfully. We had stalls including:

Sweets

Lucky dip

Cakes and shortbread

Guess the weight of the Fibro duck foundation cake

Bric a brac

Raffle

Face painting

Bidding war for the two monkeys (expertly controlled by Claire and Karen!)

BBQ and drinks

There were plenty of laughs, conversation and fun had by all. Whilst raising money it also allowed members and their families to meet other people coping with the same health conditions and challenges. Tiredness was put to one side and everyone worked really hard together. We were all really pleased with the amount raised and for Claire, after much hard work, she had achieved her wish of raising both money and awareness of Fibromyalgia.
